Notice of Annual General Meeting
In accordance with our constitution and as advised at the Special General Meeting on 14/10/2019, we announce the AGM to be held during MSA2020 on Wednesday 4th March at 5pm, to be followed by canapes and refreshments in the Conference exhibition space: The Angliss Conference Centre, Level 5, 555 La Trobe Street, Melbourne.
This meeting will hear the annual reports by the MSA President and Treasurer, hold elections for committee officers, and voting to accept the amended constitution. The MSA constitution membership section has been amended to align with the current online membership application process. To review the amended constitution refer to the discussion forum “updated MSA constitution” or click here…and to vote by proxy please contact secretary@metrology.asn.au
Health and Safety
It is our responsibility to advise the current air quality situation in Melbourne for those attending MSA2020. There has been significant improvement as the worst of the local bushfires have been contained and we trust this will improve throughout February. Attendees with respiratory concerns are advised to check conditions at the time and may need to minimise time spent outdoors.
The conference team will continue to monitor the Coronavirus outbreak and keep you updated on any travel restrictions or advice that comes to hand.
Introduction to Estimating Measurement Uncertainty training course – Special date set for MSA members only!
Monday 2nd March, 2020 - The Angliss Conference Centre, Level 5, 555 La Trobe Street, Melbourne
This date precedes the MSA Conference 2020, 3-5th March, 2020. The National Measurement Institute has reduced the price, by one-third of the regular price, for MSA members! $877.00 exc GST
About the course:
This one-day training course will give you a clear step-by-step approach to uncertainty estimation with practical examples; you will learn techniques covering the whole process from identifying the sources of uncertainty in your measurements right through to completing the uncertainty budget.

Silver Sponsor – RAPID-TECH

Rapid-Tech Equipment are a fully family owned Australian Test & Measurement distributor with a wide range of Scientific & Industrial Test Equipment. We are excited to be a Silver Sponsor at MSA2020, and as the exclusive Yokogawa TMI partner (Australia / New Zealand), will have some products on display not yet seen in Australia. For the first time in Australia the new Yokogawa WT5000 precision power analyser will be on display (and available for evaluation) which sets a new industry standard for precise power measurements. It will be shown with our precision CT’s that allow high bandwidth, high accuracy measurements without breaking the circuit and also extends current measurement capabilities to 700A RMS and beyond. Designed for Research, Metrology, Micro Inverter & Electric motor design / efficiency testing. Expandable to 28 Element Input Elements should it be required.
We also hope to have the just released Yokogawa AQ6377 5.5 Micron “Long Wavelength” Optical Spectrum Analyser designed for Photonic & Optical applications on display. Due to wavelength resolution performance, the AQ6377 can accurately measure the optical spectrum of DFB-LD and fiber lasers. The extended Wavelength allows for Environmental sensing, Gas sensing, and atmosphere observations. This unit opens up new areas of research capabilities.
Also, on display will be the brand-new Multi-Product Electrical Calibrator with Insulation Testing & Oscilloscope Calibration options from Meatest, along with Scientific thermal imaging products from FLIR and a host of other brands & products.
