MSA2015 is a great opportunity for metrology professionals and interested people to contribute and communicate with the wider metrology community about your area of interest or expertise. If you would like to present at MSA2015 please read below and contact the MSA2015 committee (Conference2015@metrology.asn.au). You can also ask any questions directly to the committee via the Call for Papers post in the discussion forum.

Plenary talks present exciting and topical views on measurement (by invitation only).
Case studies are presentations on examples of measurement problems in industrial situations. They may range from the impact of improved measurement on a business, through technical or managerial solutions, including gaining accreditation, to implementations of measurement systems. Where there is an opportunity to present an example from two perspectives, e.g., business and measurement expert, pairs of papers will be accepted and may be presented in sequence.
Both oral and poster presentations will be accepted. We would like to include copies of the presentations in the Conference Proceedings. A written paper is preferred.
Time allocation: 15 minutes presentation + 5 minutes for questions and introduction.
Research papers report on any measurement-related research, including sensors, new methods and techniques, data processing and analysis, calibration systems, measurement uncertainty. Preference will be given to applied metrology papers. Written papers are required and will be published in the proceedings.
Both oral and poster presentations will be accepted. A written paper is required for inclusion in the Conference Proceedings.
Time allocation: 15 minutes presentation + 5 minutes for questions and introduction
Workshops and forums address specific and common measurement problems. The sessions are open to discussion and questions from participants and led by experts e.g., from industry, national measurement institutes, universities, or applications engineers from instrumentation suppliers. We expect presentations covering a wide range of topics including, definition of metrological basic terms, troublesome measurements, uncertainty tutorials, advice for labs seeking accreditation, development of calibration procedures, and industrial applications.
If you would like to offer a workshop, or have a topic you would like addressed, please approach the organisers directly at Conference2015@metrology.asn.au. Presenters are encouraged to support their presentations with concise written material that will be included in the proceedings.
Time allocation: 20, 40, or 60 minutes, as required.
All abstracts for Case Studies and Research Papers should be submitted by the key dates indicated above.
The abstract should indicate the type of presentation (case study or research paper) and whether an oral or poster presentation is preferred. A good abstract includes a sentence or two on each of Context, Purpose, Methodology, Results and Analysis, and Conclusions. The abstract should also include a short biography of the presenter and the organisation for which the work was carried out.
Oral or Poster presentation is optional. For research papers, a written paper is also required. For case studies, a written paper is requested, but is optional. Oral presentations are 15 minutes + questions. Posters must fit within A0 portrait dimensions. Instructions and templates for abstracts can be downloaded from here.
Posters will be presented in the exhibition area with the trade exhibits, so that they can be viewed during morning and afternoon teas, or at any other time during the day. Posters must fit within A0 portrait dimensions (1189 mm high by 841 mm wide).
All oral presentations should be in Microsoft PowerPoint, and will be required to be loaded onto the venue computers before each session. The time allocated for each oral presentation is 20 minutes, including time for introduction of the speaker, and questions afterwards. It is suggested presenters plan for 15 minutes speaking.
If you are not submitting a written manuscript, we ask that you make your PowerPoint presentation available for inclusion in the proceedings.
All manuscripts for research papers and case studies must be submitted to the organisers by 1 September 2015.
The manuscript must be prepared in Microsoft Word format in accordance with the template (to be provided soon) and less than 8 pages in total.
Submitted manuscripts may be edited prior to inclusion in the proceedings, but will not be subject to scientific peer review.
